Hosting services are offered through a state-of-the-art data center located in Portland, Oregon. Our vendor, Opus Interactive, offers a high-density, scalable platform with a guaranteed level of service that is second to none for data security, connectivity and redundancy. PowerAdvisor's Hosted Solution provides you with the assurance of business continuity in the event of failure or disaster that is critical for your practice.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
Through Opus, we offer the highest quality data backup and disaster recovery equipment available. Redundancy is achieved with CDP, virtual server backups, tape backups that can replicate your data between our data center locations, or to your own facility over LAN or WAN. Thus, you are protected from any kind of failure or disaster with the complete insurance of business continuity.

Internet Connectivity & Redundancy
Multiple Internet backbone providers are utilized in a multi-homed architecture, using the BGP protocol to determine fastest Internet routes. If one provider becomes unavailable, the others assume the traffic until capacity is restored. Peering arrangements and this level of redundancy ensures the highest level of network availability. Additionally, Hot Swap Router Protocol (HSRP) is used on core routers to provide equipment failover for the Cisco core.

Network Equipment
The data center uses the best equipment available and vendor service agreements are structured to provide quicker response and faster repairs on malfunctioning equipment. Network equipment vendors include Cisco Systems, Lucent, Intel®, APC, IBM, LeftHand Networks, Array Networks, IronPort, HP, and Fujitsu.

Power Redundancy
Redundant and conditioned power is assured through use of a modular, high-efficiency UPS infrastructure and on-site diesel backup power generators with fuel storage. The current fuel capacity allows for over 55 hours of run time before re-fueling is required.  Contracts with two fueling vendors guarantee refueling within 4 hours.  There is also a separate 1200A 480V Power Feed served from PGE's high availability substation specifically for our data center. 

Service & Bandwidth
The data center is served by the following telcos, providing three separate fiber entrances:

• Integra Telecom (Electric Lightwave Inc. (ELI)) - 1XOC48 + Metro Optical Ethernet (MOE) + 1XOC12 + 1XOC3 - SONET
• Time Warner Telecom - 1XOC48 with Ethernet capabilities - SONET + GigE
• Qwest - Fiber, Multiple DS3s + 100 pairs of copper

The available internet bandwidth is 1.5Gbps.

Site Security

The hosting service data center is secured by card-lock entry. Only location customers and network administrators have access. Plus, all data center activity is captured on recorded CCTV - 24 hours a day. The entire building, the offices, plus the data center are secured by card-lock and monitored by a motion-triggered, web-accessible CCTV system. The on-site data center staff monitors the building over the web and instantly responds to any data center movement.
