Cornerstone Revolutions provides report writing and customization services to PowerAdvisor users who desire to alter existing PA reports or create new reports based on their specific requirements. Cornerstone's custom reporting solutions are tailored to fit your needs and are also very affordable.
To insure that we deliver what our customers need and expect, we request that custom reporting projects are accompanied by a written description of the new report designs or desired customizations. Our technical team will work with you to develop design specifications and layout mockups that are well defined and that accurately represent your project goals. Acquiring a full understanding of your desired results will greatly assist in our development process and will insure a successful project delivery that closely matches to your requirements and specifications.
Written Description for New Reports or Customizations
Providing a detailed written description of the new report design is very important to the overall success of your project. Describing how the report will be used, the data that will be displayed, and formatting details will assist us in developing a solution that perfectly fits your needs. For example, specify the columns of information to be included in the report, the names of the column headings, the calculations or fields of information that will be used to fill each column, and how the data should be organized, filtered, sorted, and/or totaled.
Our current inventory of PowerAdvisor reports is also highly customizable. Generally speaking, most (or all) of the data and design elements within PowerAdvisor reports can be altered or deleted according to your specifications. New features can also be added as long as the desired data is already being captured by PowerAdvisor, the report can accommodate the size of the addition, and if our available technology supports the requested changes. Similar to the in-depth details needed for a new report request, descriptions of report alterations must provide us with sufficient information so that we can adequately understand the requirements for the customization project.
The following are some examples of reporting elements and data details that should be provided, as applicable, to new report requests or changes to existing reports:
- Report title or sub-title(s). Describe changes or additions, title placement, font size or style, etc.
- Data columns and fields. Describe the columns of data that is to be used, added, deleted, or reformatted. As applicable include column titles and/or heading names, and any other special considerations for related issues such as column width.
- Formulas and calculations. Indicate specific calculations that are to be used and the exact mathematical formula(s) if a custom calculation is required. Indicate any changes to current calculations or methodology that are to be made.
- Report layout. Specify any design elements such as general layout or spacing that needs to be addressed, included, excluded or changed.
- Numeric formats. Indicate preferences for decimal precision, comma placement for 1000 separation, use of symbols (dollar or percentage signs, for example), or any other related considerations for formatting.
- Data organization. As applicable, indicate how the data display should be arranged, sorted, categorized, organized, subtotaled, and/or totaled. For example: the report data should be displayed with categorization first by security type (alphabetically) and then by asset class (alphabetically); each asset class should be subtotaled; the report should display a grand total at the bottom of the report.
- Text formatting. Provide requirements and preferences as it applies to font type, font size, font style, font color, line spacing, justification, or any other text related issues.
- Design elements. Provide requirements for use and placement of design elements such as logos, graphics, or charting. Give examples of the desired representation or actual graphic files that are to be used.
- Report dates. Describe how the report should be generated - either as of a specific date or if the data display should be based on a date range.
- Page orientation. If applicable, indicate your preference for a portrait or landscape orientation.
Report Mock-Ups
Provide a detailed report-mock-up to insure that your custom report or customization project will be as successful as it should be. The mock-up layout and design should be as detailed as possible and accurately represent the desired end result. The example that is provided can be created in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher, or any other output that allows us to see exactly what you want and need.
If it is more convenient, we can also utilize report output from another system that has been clearly designated with desired changes, additions, and/or deletions. The report requirements and associated detailing should be explicitly denoted and be consistent with the written description provided.
Custom Report Quotation & Pricing
A Cornerstone sales representative will prepare a written cost quote once we have received the written description and mock-up. Turnaround time for issuing reporting quotes, from the time all information is received, can range from 1 day up to two weeks, depending on our current work load.
Payment arrangements will be discussed and documented within your project quote. Once you have accepted the proposal and payment is received, we will place your project into the work schedule queue. A development engineer will be assigned to project on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Ongoing maintenance fees apply to all custom report projects, unless stated otherwise in the project quote. The annual maintenance fee is generally equal to 10% of the total [initial] cost paid for the custom report or customization to an existing report. You will be invoiced yearly, on or around the anniversary of your project completion date.
