PowerAdvisor's reasonable price was the initial attraction for me. But when I saw how professional my reports looked after the fourth quarter, particularly the (Returns vs Benchmarks report), I knew the company was right on track. I was looking for a company to build a relationship with and was pleased to find one in my own backyard.

Starting my practice from ground zero, I was exploring my options and could only find portfolio management software that was built on old technology, was too expensive, or both. I read Joel Bruckenstein's review of PowerAdvisor and ordered a demo. I found it was priced-right, user friendly, and backed by a company eager to work through the challenges with you. Some of the other companies I contacted didn't even bother to return my call.

The fact that I own my data with PowerAdvisor is a big factor for me. Companies come and go, and if they owned my data, that would be gone too. Independent financial planners owe it to themselves to support products that give you options so we are not at the mercy of those who decide what we pay and what we get.

If owning your own data is important to you and you want to be able to do such leading edge things as mail PDFs of great-looking, easy-to-read reports (I am no longer in the printing and mailing business), I highly recommend it."
